Miami nightlife as it is

Miami is the hottest and most exciting city located on the Atlantic coast in southeastern Florida. It is the seat of Miami-Dade County, the most populous in Florida. Miami is well-known globally due to its finance, commerce, culture, media, fashion, film and international trade. Known as the Gateway of the Americas, Miami is an international center for entertainment, music, fashion, culture and art. The namesake port, Port of Miami is the busiest cruise ship passenger port in the world. Located near the southern tip of the Florida peninsula, Miami enjoys some of the warmest, tropical weather in the US and is a mere boat ride from the Bahamas and the Cayman islands.
As a cultural and international trade centre, Miami is one of the most exciting and often-portrayed locations in the world. Many popular movies and television shows have capitalized on the excitement of the city: Miami Vice, CSI: Miami, Burn Notice, Bad Boys, True Lies, Scarface and Casino Royale. With year-round tropical weather, locals and tourists alike flock to Miami to experience some its legendary night life.
The downtown core is packed with hotspots, shows and night clubs to party the night away. If live music is your thing, you might want to check out Cameo for their top-notch DJs and legendary live rock concerts. If Jazz is your thing, you should go to Jazid, Miami’s version of a New Orleans Jazz club. Mango’s tropical caf features sexy dancers jiggling to the beat of Latin music. Van Dyk cafe features people-watching and live Jazz music every night.
When it comes to night life in Miami, South Beach is the place to be. LIV, located at the Fontainebleau Hotel is a major player in the Miami party scene. It has a huge space; lavish design and outrageous entertainment which makes it stand out from the crowd. Mansion is a renovated art deco theatre which features a range of dance floors, rooms, bars and VIP areas. Mynt Lounge is frequented by actors, models and rock stars making it one of the most exclusive around – if you manage to get in, you’ll find a small floor and a long bar serving very expensive drinks. Nikki Beach is an open-air restaurant during the day and a nightclub/lounge at night. Set Miami was named by the Miami New Times as the “Best Dance Club” in 2009: while featuring couches and tables designed for drinking, that doesn’t stop the patrons from dancing on them. Not surprisingly, some of these are notoriously difficult to get into, so if you don’t happen to bring your own paparazzi with you, you may want to check out the scene early before committing the whole group. Some of these clubs won’t even let the kids from Jersey Shore in (a classy move on Miami’s part).
For those who prefer to drink rather than dance, there are upscale bars and cocktail lounges in Miami for a night of drinking and lounging alongside the rich, famous and beautiful. Prive is a celebrities’ favorite with four stylish bars serving more than 100 varieties of top shelf liquors. Rose Bar at the Delano is a sleek and beautiful bar, well-regarded as a classy spot to lounge and have expensive drinks. Skybar is glamorous and beautiful, featuring a similar clientele. Tantra serves food and drinks that are prepared with aphrodisiac ingredients.
Maybe you don’t want to dress up or wrangle past another velvet rope and just want to cozy up to a bar and a cocktail. If that’s the case then you should check out Abbey Brewing Co: an intimate European Pub-style bar serving their own house brews and a range of drafts ales and wines. Also, Lost Weekend on Espanola Way offers pool, foosball and darts and reasonably priced drinks. Mac’s Club Deuce offers a chance to drink with anyone and everyone – from bikers to school teachers and drag queens – at the most unpretentious bar in Miami. Ted’s Hideaway is a local’s favorite, serving cheap drinks in a smoky, extra-casual atmosphere.
After dark the best opportunities for rubbing elbows with the rich and famous take place. At chic restaurants and cutting-edge nightclubs, Miami’s nightlife scene sizzles. In a recent Travel & Leisure poll, Miami was ranked the #1 city in America for the singles scene and Latin beat. Whether you crave cocktails for two, a night of dancing or checking out the live music scene, Miami’s nightlife is sure to satisfy.
